The Scarborough Community Council: 1. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Fishleigh Drive, between Glen Everest Road and Midland Avenue. 2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway to install thirteen speed humps on Fishleigh Drive, between Glen Everest Road and Midland Avenue, generally as shown on the attached Drawings Number TC-446, and TC-447, dated January 2025 from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.

This proposed motion is intended to address safety concerns of all road users, especially children, seniors, pedestrians, and cyclists residing on Fishleigh Drive. The residents of this area are facing a significant increased volume of traffic and associated speeding. Increased congestion of roads in the area resulting from increased construction and development work is adding pressure to the existing road. Based on data, we were able to understand that residents are overwhelmingly in support of traffic calming measures on Fishleigh Drive.

Speed humps will improve safety and the quality of life for residents by allowing vehicles to travel at slower speeds. The following recommendations serve as an important tool to improve safety for community members.
