City Council on March 26 and 27, 2025, adopted the following: 1. City Council direct the General Manager, Parks and Recreation, the Director, Indigenous Affairs Office and the Director, Waterfront Secretariat to engage with Treaty partners and urban Indigenous communities, in consultation with the local Councillor, and report back to the Toronto and East York Community Council in the second quarter of 2026 with a proposed name for the East Bayfront Community Recreation Centre, with a status update in the third quarter of 2025.

The East Bayfront Community Centre is a new 25,000 sq ft facility scheduled to open in the east waterfront in spring 2025. It is part of the community infrastructure planned for this area as we continue the revitalization of our waterfront. A placeholder name, East Bayfront CRC, will be used until a formal naming process is completed. Given the waterfront's historical, cultural and ongoing significance to Treaty partners
