Residents on Stanhope Avenue, between O'Connor Drive and Hopedale Avenue, have expressed repeated concerns about speeding vehicles and occasional truck traffic on their local street. While Stanhope Avenue is not a designated haul route for the Metrolinx's Ontario Line construction, it is located in close proximity to Metrolinx's Minton Portal construction site, where major works are underway and are expected to continue until 2028.

Residents have reported that construction-related activity in the surrounding area has led to increased traffic volumes and speeding, impacting their safety and livability. In response to these concerns, my office conducted a ballot which the temporary installation of four speed humps on Stanhope Avenue is supported by local residents to deter non-local traffic, reduce vehicle speeds, and enhance pedestrian and community safety while significant transit infrastructure work is ongoing nearby.
