Requested the General Manager, Transportation Services, in consultation with the Liberty Village Business Improvement Area, Toronto Hydro and any other relevant divisions and agencies, to report back to the July 8, 2025 meeting of the Toronto and East York Community Council on the status of local infrastructure improvements identified as priorities for action in the Liberty Village Public Realm Strategy, including: a.

sidewalk installations on the west side of the neighbourhood; b. geometric safety improvements at key neighbourhood intersections; c. options to expedite boulevard upgrades at 65-85 East Liberty Street; d. options to improve the pedestrian experience by re-assessing boulevard parking on East Liberty Street; e. lighting upgrades; and f. an improved maintenance plan for the King/Liberty pedestrian bridge and elevators; and provide an update on the status and sources of funding for such improvements.

Last Spring, my office moved forward an amendment to the Liberty Village Public Realm Strategy to improve local sidewalk infrastructure, pedestrian experience, and road safety in Liberty Village in advance of the FIFA World Cup. As we welcome the world to Toronto and to Liberty Village in particular, we need to be ready. There are some significant upgrades that require a progress update.
