Transportation Services conducted a review and determined that expanding the existing community safety zone on Dufferin Street is warranted. This designation will fill a gap between two existing safety zones to the north and south, ensuring a continuous corridor of traffic regulations designed to reduce dangerous driving. The establishment of a community safety zone will increase penalties for drivers violating traffic rules and will support any future implementation of automated speed enforcement. This expanded community safety zone will help to improve safety for all road users in the active and growing neighbourhoods along Dufferin Street.
