On the agenda
As the city filed it
Residents on Salem Avenue have shared their concerns regarding speeding vehicles travelling south from Dupont Street. Currently, there are four speed humps on Salem Avenue, between Hallam Street and Dupont Street. Of the four locations, two speed humps meet the City's spacing guidelines, while two are separated by 90 metres. This gap is located right near a very busy section of Dupont Street, where a number of near misses and accidents have already occurred as drivers increase speeds before reaching the next speed hump.

I am recommending the installation of an additional speed hump to close this gap and improve existing traffic calming measures on Salem Avenue. The addition of this location will reduce the distance between the two speed humps to 44 metres, down from 90 metres, in line with the updated traffic calming policy.
