On the agenda

As the city filed it

Dear Chair and Members of Etobicoke York Community Council, My office recently received a petition with over 90 signatures from Mimico residents requesting a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Hillside Ave and Royal York Road to better support access to John English Junior Middle School and Mimico Memorial Park. In 2024, Transportation Services reviewed this request, however the intersection did not meet the City's technical criteria for installing a protected pedestrian crossing.

Given continued community interest and changes in the area over the past couple of years, I recommend that Transportation Services conduct a new review of the intersection and report back on the feasibility of installing a crossing at this location.
