The Scarborough Community Council: 1. Reduced the speed limit from 40 km/hr to 30 km/hr on Dearham Wood, between Toynbee Trail and Galloway Road. 2. Authorized the amendment of Schedule XLV (Part 1) to City of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 950, Traffic and Parking, to remove Dearham Wood, between Toynbee Trail and Galloway Road, from being excluded from the Designated Area such that this portion of highway will then be included within the corresponding designated area in Column 1 in Schedule XLV (Part 1).

The posted speed limit on Dearham Wood between Galloway Road and Toynbee Trail is currently 40 km/h. In 2020, Scarborough Community Council approved a reduction of the speed limit to 30 km/h for the adjacent section between Galloway Road and Poplar Road (SC12.23). The entire length of Dearham Wood is classified as a collector road. Reducing the speed limit on remaining segment to 30 km/h will provide consistency along the corridor and improve safety for all road users, particularly in areas without sidewalks.
