As part of the ongoing Tree By-Law Review, City Council has requested that Environment, Climate and Forestry provide recommendations specific to City-owned female gingko trees. The fruit produced by female ginkgo trees emits a noxious smell and toxic residue which inhibits residents from conducting proper maintenance. While staff's review is underway, this motion allows the residents of 54 Gormley to replace their existing female ginkgo tree with a less hazardous tree.
