  Selina Young, Director, Indigenous Affairs Office, City of Toronto, will give an update on the Indigenous Affairs Office.

  Filling Vacancies in Aboriginal Affairs Advisory Committee Membership

  The Co-Chairs, Aboriginal Affairs Advisory Committee, will lead a discussion on approaches for filling vacancies on the Aboriginal Affairs Advisory Committee. This is a follow-up of the discussion that took place at the previous meeting in April 2021 on Item AA10.2.

  Ryerson's Learn for Empowerment Program

  Tracey King, Indigenous Human Resources Lead, Ryerson University and Member, Aboriginal Affairs Advisory Committee, and Scott Sunday, Indigenous Program Coordinator, Ryerson University, will provide an overview of the Learn for Empowerment Program, a trauma-informed, community-based program with the goal of providing a cohort of Indigenous participants with a collaborative culturally-safe, strength-based learning, and work experience to assist them in finding work at Ryerson University or elsewhere.

  Indigenous Engagement for the Municipal Comprehensive Review

  Jeffrey Cantos, Manager, Official Plan, City Planning, and Stephanie Burnham, Planner, Dillon Consulting, will give a presentation on the Municipal Comprehensive Review, including steps to amplify Indigenous voices through this review process.

  The Aboriginal Affairs Advisory Committee: 1. Requested the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning, to incorporate the Aboriginal Affairs Advisory Committee's suggestions for amplifying Indigenous voices into the engagement process of Our Plan Toronto, the Municipal Comprehensive Review.

  Indigenous Heritage Engagement Project

  Gary Miedema, Project Manager, Heritage Planning Services, City Planning, will give a presentation on the Indigenous Heritage Engagement Project.

  Toronto Zoo Request for Support

  Dolf DeJong, Chief Executive Officer, Toronto Zoo, will discuss potential changes to serve communities, and seek feedback from Committee members on how best to engage Indigenous communities to determine the path going forward.

  Proposed Northwest Cultural Trail

  Al Rezoski, Manager, Community Planning, North York District, City Planning, will give a presentation on the Proposed Northwest Cultural Trail. The proposed Northwest Cultural Trail focuses on promoting Indigenous and Black heritage landscapes and cultural attractions, improving access to Neighbourhood Improvement Areas and encouraging active transportation. City Planning is seeking ideas from the Aboriginal Affairs Advisory Committee to add public art and programming along the trail.
