Election of Vice Chair - Civic Appointments Committee
Election of the Vice Chair of the Civic Appointments Committee under Municipal Code Chapter 27, Council Procedures, Appendix A-2, for a term of office ending December 31, 2020, and until a successor is appointed.
The Civic Appointments Committee: 1. Elected Councillor Cynthia Lai as Vice Chair of the Civic Appointments Committee for a term of office starting January 10, 2019 and ending December 31, 2020, and until a successor is appointed.

Board of Health - Selection of Candidates for Interview
The Civic Appointments Committee must select candidates to interview for appointment to the Board of Health. Following the interviews, the Civic Appointments Committee will recommend six public members and one education representative for appointment to City Council.
The Civic Appointments Committee: 1. Selected the following candidates for interview for appointment to the Board of Health: Candidate #1-145 Candidate #1-170 Candidate #1-369 Candidate #1-389 Candidate #2-12 Candidate #2-19 Candidate #2-27 Candidate #2-29 Candidate #2-47 Candidate #2-92 Candidate #2-135 Candidate #2-140 2. Directed that the nominees from the Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board be interviewed at its next meeting for appointment to the Board of Health. 3. Directed that the confidential information contained in Confidential Attachments 1, 2 and 3 to the report (January 3, 2019) from the City Clerk remain confidential in their entirety as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Board of Health.

The City Clerk recommends that: 1. The Civic Appointments Committee select 14 of the candidates listed in Confidential Attachment 1 for interview at its next meeting for appointment to the Board of Health. 2. The Civic Appointments Committee direct that the nominees from the Toronto District School Board and the Toronto Catholic District School Board be interviewed at its next meeting for appointment to the Board of Health. 3. The Civic Appointments Committee direct that the confidential information contained in Confidential Attachment 1, 2 and 3 remain confidential in its entirety as it relates to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Board of Health.

The Civic Appointments Committee must select candidates to interview for appointment to the Toronto Public Library Board. Following the interviews, the Civic Appointments Committee will recommend eight candidates for appointment to City Council.
