Appointments to Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee
At its meeting held April 7 and 8, City Council appointed the following members to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee for a term of office from April 9, 2021 to November 14, 2022, and until successors are appointed: Luke Anderson Ashleigh Molloy Lana Williams These new appointments fill the positions previously held by Karima Ewig and Michael Miceli who resigned in November 2020, and Stefanie Marinich-Lee who resigned in February 2021.

Response to COVID-19 - May 2021 Update
The Board of Health, during its meeting on May 10, 2021, adopted Item HL28.1, as amended, and, among other things, directed that the report (April 29, 2021) from the Medical Officer of Health be forwarded to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee for consideration. The Board of Health's recommendations to City Council, which will be considered during its meeting on June 8 and 9, 2021, and decision advice, are included in the letter from the Board of Health. Dr. Vinita Dubey, Associate Medical Officer of Health, Toronto Public Health will provide an update to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee on the directives from EX19.21, specifically the strategies and outcomes of how current health programs are reaching target demographics, including persons living with disabilities, as well as recommendations to minimize the transmission of COVID-19 to people with disabilities.

Accessibility Task Force on COVID 19 Vaccines - Overview and Recommendations
Wendy Porch, Executive Director, Centre for Independent Living in Toronto and Chair, Toronto's Accessibility Task Force on COVID-19 Vaccines will give a presentation on Accessibility Task Force on COVID-19 Vaccines: Overview and Recommendations.
The Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee recommends that City Council: 1. Direct that the recommendations of the Toronto Accessibility Task Force on COVID-19 Vaccines apply to all City-operated vaccination clinics. 2. Reimburse the costs borne by the agency partners of the Toronto Accessibility Task Force on COVID-19 Vaccines for the accommodations provided at the two vaccine clinics held in May 2021 for people living with disabilities. 3. Direct that the cost of future requirements for further accommodations recommended by the Task Force be the sole responsibility of the City of Toronto and other governments. 4. Direct the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer to arrange for the process of reimbursement from the appropriate funding source.

Toronto Accessibility Design Guidelines
Joseph Salvagio, Manager, Capital Construction Projects, Corporate Real Estate Management will share an overview of the Toronto Accessibility Design Guidelines, including details on how comments on the guidelines will be received from key stakeholders and the general public, and the plan to present the guidelines to City Council in September 2021.

Impacts on Access and Accessibility to Waiting Areas at City Hall
Andrew Robinson, Manager, Corporate Security, Corporate Real Estate Management will provide a presentation on Impacts on Access and Accessibility to waiting areas at City Hall. As requested by City Council, Corporate Real Estate Management held public consultations, with specific outreach to people with disabilities on proposed changes to the waiting area/bus shelters at City Hall and other locations that are used by Toronto Transit Commission Wheel-Trans or other customers with disabilities. This presentation provides the results of the consultations, including the steps Corporate Real Estate Management is taking to address the feedback received.

Shelter Design and Technical Guidelines - Accessibility Feedback
Justin Lewis, Director, Infrastructure Planning and Development, Shelter, Support and Housing Administration will provide an overview of the main principles of the Shelter Design and Technical Guidelines that will be used to inform the design of shelters. The presentation will also describe the review process for the document and solicit feedback from the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee.

Helping People Experiencing Homelessness from Equity-Seeking Groups to Access Supportive Housing
Valesa Faria, Director, Housing Secretariat; and Justin Lewis, Director, Infrastructure Planning and Development, Shelter, Support and Housing Administration will give a presentation on key City initiatives aimed at increasing the supply of supportive and accessible housing, as well as work underway to support people from equity-seeking groups experiencing homelessness to access supportive housing opportunities.

Improving Accessibility in Remote Meetings
Lawrence Eta, Chief Technology Officer, Technology Services Division, will provide an overview on the progress the City has made to improve accessibility for all participants in remote meetings of Council and Committees. The overview will include how most issues identified over the last year have been addressed, as well as information on remaining issues.
