Automated Micro-utility Devices - Accessibility Feedback
Ryan Lanyon, Manager, Strategic Policy and Innovation, Transportation Services will give a presentation on Automated Micro-utility Devices - Accessibility Feedback. As directed by Toronto City Council, staff are conducting a study by consulting with and engaging stakeholders, on the potential impacts and benefits arising from the use of micro-utility devices, and have also conducted a Transportation Innovation Challenge. The presentation will give an update on these initiatives and seek accessibility feedback from the Committee.
The Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee: 1. Referred Item DI21.1 to the General Manager, Transportation Services with the request that an updated presentation be provided to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee in 2023, to allow for accessibility feedback to be provided with the staff report that will be submitted to City Council.

Follow Up on 2022 Election Accessibility Plan
The Deputy City Clerk, Toronto Election Services, will provide an update on how those who relied on at-home voting will be accommodated in the upcoming municipal election.

Storefront Entry Ramps on the Public Right-of-way - Accessibility Feedback
Ryan Lanyon, Manager of Strategic Policy and Innovation, Transportation Services; and Sophia Yue Li, PhD, Partnerships & Strategic Project Manager, KITE Research Institute, Toronto Rehab, University Health Network will give a presentation on Storefront Entry Ramps on the Public Right-of-way. The presentation will provide the findings from research and stakeholder consultations undertaken to investigate the feasibility of establishing guidelines to permit private ramps on the public right-of-way (sidewalk) for accessing storefront entrances.
The Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee recommends that: 1. The General Manager, Transportation Services report back to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee in the first quarter of 2023 with an update on the development of placement guidelines for interim private storefront ramps on the public right-of-way; such an update is to include the following: a. a summary of the draft guidelines with a full draft document included with the item; b. a summary of the consultation process for developing the guidelines; c. a description of how the guidelines will be incorporated into the permitting process; and d. the limits of the guidelines, including situations that cannot be accommodated under them.

Accessibility in Construction Zones
Barbara Gray, General Manager, Transportation Services, and Micheal D'Andrea, Chief Engineer and Executive Director, Engineering and Construction Services will give a presentation on Accessibility in Construction Zones. The presentation will include information on the tools and strategies the City currently uses to ensure accessibility in the public realm surrounding private development as well as capital City projects including: a. access to sidewalks, or where not possible, adequate pathways; b. existing guidelines for access/egress standards; c. ramps, signage, and wayfinding for pedestrians; and d. enforcement protocol and associated fines, if any, for non-compliance.
The Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee recommends that: 1. The General Manager, Transportation Services, and the Chief Engineer and Executive Director, Engineering and Construction Services report to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee in the third quarter of 2023 with a progress update on preserving accessibility in construction zones, including the following: a. a detailed summary of consultation activities undertaken and feedback received from individuals and organizations in the accessibility community regarding barriers posed by construction zones on city sidewalks; b. a detailed summary of outreach and education activities undertaken, and planned for later in 2023, with the construction industry regarding the preservation of accessibility in construction zones; c. the results of the review of the City's Standards for Designing and Constructing City Infrastructure, specifically the TS1.00 Construction Specifications for Maintenance of Traffic; and d. the status of implementing the proposed improvements as outlined in the presentation from City Staff to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee on June 13, 2022.

Jeffrey Cantos, Manager, Official Plan, City Planning, Cole Solish and Rafael Mejia Ortiz, Assistant Planners, Official Plan, City Planning will give a presentation on Our Plan Toronto - Jurisdictional Review and Draft Official Plan Vision Statement and Principles. The presentation will provide information on the work that was done to conduct a jurisdictional review and prepare draft policies as part of the Municipal Comprehensive Review, which incorporate an equity-deserving lens with a focus on the needs of people living with disabilities.

Ontario Disability Related Data and COVID-19
Hilary Brown, ICES Adjunct Scientist, Yona Lunsky, ICES Adjunct Scientist, and Lesley Plumptre, ICES Staff Scientist will give a presentation on Ontario Disability Related Data and COVID-19. This presentation will cover previous and ongoing COVID-19 related work in people with disabilities. COVID-19 related outcomes and vaccination coverage in disability populations will be shared along with where to find additional resources for further information.
The Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee recommends that: 1. City Council forward the presentation from the ICES Scientists to the Board of Health and Toronto Public Health with the request that they be invited to present the information at an upcoming meeting.
