Strathburn Boulevard and Melody Road - All-Way Stop Control
Residents and the local school Principal have contacted me concerned about the safety on Strathburn Blvd at Melody Rd. Strathburn Blvd is lined with cars each morning and afternoon as many parents drop off and pick up their children at St. Simon Catholic School. As the intersection is directly adjacent to the school, many children and families cross Strathburn Blvd with very limited visibility at Melody Rd, and this has created a very dangerous situation. Staff recently conducted traffic counts and found Strathburn Blvd and Melody Rd to be below the warrants for the installation of an All-Way Stop control. However, given the proximity to the school and the precariousness of the situation, I am recommending the committee authorize an All-Way stop at this location.
The Etobicoke York Community Council: 1. Authorized an all-way compulsory stop control at the intersection of Strathburn Boulevard at Melody Road.
