The Economic Development and Culture staff will provide updates on film permit fees adoption and implementation timelines, Power Drops implementation, Workforce Development programs update and recent film production volumes.
The Film, Television and Digital Media Advisory Board recommends that: 1. The Economic and Community Development Committee request the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture, and the Executive Director, Corporate Real Estate Management, in consultation with the Chair and the Co-Chair of the Film, Television and Digital Media Board and the Directors Guild of Canada, report to June 6, 2022 meeting of the Toronto Film, Television and Digital Media Board on any changes necessary to existing contracts for filming on city sites that would facilitate easier access and expedite the process; such report to include the list of current city properties that are being used for film purposes as well as those that have been requested but not currently permitted.

Municipal Comprehensive Review
Jeffrey Cantos, Manager, Strategic Initiatives, Policy and Analysis (SIPA), Infrastructure and Development Services, City Planning will provide an update on the Municipal Comprehensive Review (MCR) under way, its consultations with the film industry and other sectors, the path the MCR is taking, as well as provide a briefing on South of Eastern Employment Lands and the impact of potential changes in the zoning of key sites in the area.

Productions, Interactive, Creative (PIC) Core Urban Design Guidelines Presentation
Anthony Kittel, Project Manager, Strategic Initiatives, Policy and Analysis (SIPA), Infrastructure and Development Services, City Planning will provide an overview of the Productions, Interactive, Creative (PIC) Core Urban Design Guidelines draft, the including the integration of results from consultations with film industry stakeholders and members of the Toronto Film, Television and Digital Media Board and the Film Office as well as the next steps for the document.
