Toronto Music Advisory Committee Task Team Updates
Toronto Music Advisory Committee Task Team spokespeople will update members on ongoing work related to teams' goals.
The Toronto Music Advisory Committee: 1. Requested the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture to consult with the Executive Director, Municipal Licensing and Standards, and the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning, and bring forward an update at the December 1, 2025 meeting on: - clarifying zoning and licensing definitions for venues presenting live music, including DJs; and, - aligning communications and outreach to bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues, including live music venues, with the collaborative approach to businesses presented by City staff during the Night Economy Review Consultations and Town Hall in 2024.

Summary of Development Application Fee and Related Resources for New Live Music Venues
Development Review will provide an update on planning-related application fees and related resources in response to Item MA7.1 at the May 15, 2025 meeting of the Toronto Music Advisory Committee.
The Toronto Music Advisory Committee recommend that: 1. The Planning and Housing Committee request the Chief Planner and Executive Director, City Planning, the Executive Director, Development Review, and the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture, to continue to explore options for and impacts of reduced development application fees for proponents seeking to establish new live music venues, including Zoning By-law Amendment application fees, and report back to the first meeting of the Toronto Music Advisory Committee in 2026.
