Appointments to the CreateTO Board of Directors
At its meeting on November 13 and 14, 2024, City Council considered Item CC23.4, entitled "Appointment of Public Members to the CreateTO Board of Directors" and appointed two public members to the CreateTO Board for the following terms: · Marni Dicker for a term of office starting on November 15, 2024 and ending on November 30, 2025; and · Mark Bonham for a term of office starting on November 15, 2024 and ending on March 28, 2028. City Council also appointed Allison Mendes as Chair of the CreateTO Board starting on November 15, 2024. All members are appointed at the pleasure of Council and serve until successors are appointed. These appointments are the result of the end of Marni Dicker and Dennis Fotinos' initial terms of office, which ended on October 2, 2024, as well as the resignation of the former Chair, Ron Carinci, on November 4, 2024.

For the nine months ending September 30, 2024, CreateTO's gross expenditures are $0.42 million favorable compared to the budget. Annual expenditures are expected to be in line with the approved budget of $18.46 million gross, and $0 net.

CreateTO Total Compensation Review
CreateTO is committed to establishing total compensation in a transparent, accountable, and consistent way that both safeguards the public interest and attracts, motivates, and retains top talent to support the organization's success. This approach ensures value for money for CreateTO's Board, the City of Toronto, and its taxpayers and ratepayers. In March 2024, CreateTO's Board of Directors approved a motion to conduct a comprehensive review of the organization's total compensation program. The review aims to evaluate how CreateTO's compensation aligns with current market trends and compares with similar public and private sector organizations. Attachment 1 provides an overview of the Total Compensation Review and includes recommended updates to CreateTO's compensation framework to maintain consistency with market standards.
