Public Appointments to the Board
At its meeting held November 9, 10, and 12, 2021, City Council appointed the following five members to the Board for a term of office from November 15, 2021 to November 10, 2025, and until successors are appointed: Claudia Brabazon Matthew Cole Cynthia Holmes Ivan Hon Matthew Lombardi As part of this process, Vanessa Choy's term of office on the Board came to an end effective November 14, 2021.

A vacancy in the office of Vice-Chair occurred when Vanessa Choy's term of office on the Board came to an end effective November 14, 2021. In accordance with the Board of Management of the Toronto Zoo Procedural By-law Section 9(5), the Board shall elect a Vice-Chair at its first meeting following a vacancy occurring in the office. The term of office shall be two years unless the Board otherwise specifies. All members are eligible for election.
The Board of Management of the Toronto Zoo: 1. Elected Cynthia Holmes as Vice-Chair of the Board of Management of the Toronto Zoo for a two-year term of office ending December 8, 2023, and until a successor is appointed.

2022 Board and Committee Meeting Dates and Committee Appointments
The purpose of this report is to propose meeting schedules for the Toronto Zoo Board of Management and its Committees for 2022.
The Board of Management of the Toronto Zoo: 1. Adopted the 2022 calendar of meeting dates for the Toronto Zoo Board and its Committees, as set out in the report (November 25, 2021) from the Chief Executive Officer, Toronto Zoo, and as amended by motion 1 by Councillor McKelvie. The Board of Management of the Toronto Zoo 2022 meeting dates are as follows: Monday, February 14 - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14 - 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9 - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15 - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13 - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8 - 2:00 p.m. 2. Directed sub-committee meetings to be scheduled at the call of the Chief Executive Officer of the Toronto Zoo. 3. Changed the name of the Animal Acquisition Committee to further be known as the Animal Committee. 4. Gave notice of amending Section 33 (7) of its Procedural By-law to change the name of the "Animal Acquisition Committee" to the "Animal Committee". 5. Appointed Claudia Brabazon and Rebecca Pang to the Policy and Finance Committee. 6. Appointed Matthew Lombardi to the Animal Committee.

The Chief Executive Officer recommends that: 1. The Toronto Zoo Board of Management adopt the proposed 2022 calendar of meeting dates for the Toronto Zoo Board and its Committees. 2. The Board of Management approve changing the name of the Animal Acquisition Committee to further be known as the Animal Committee. 3. The Board of Management appoint at least one new member to the Policy and Finance Committee and the Animal Acquisition Committee (Animal Committee). 4. The Board of Management direct sub-committee meetings to be scheduled at the call of the Chief Executive Officer of the Toronto Zoo.

This report will recommend the Zoo modify the scope of the Energy Retrofit Project Phase II based on recommendations from the City of Toronto Energy and Environment Office. The modifications will result in significant greenhouse gas emissions reductions and align with the Toronto Zoo's environmental and natural resources conservation platform and City of Toronto's TransformTO objectives.
