Toronto was built on public safety. Yet last year 82% of religiously-motivated hate crimes landed on one community. Trust is now broken. This election is about who can restore it — for the whole city. Our plan is public. #topoli chrisalexander.ca/ending-hate-cr… pic.x.com/KanzQ49zH1
As Toronto faces this wave of emboldened & violent Anti-Semitism — surging throughout the mayor’s entire term in office — she has engaged in brazen abandonment of Toronto’s Jewish community, This city doesn’t need more excuses: it needs serious action to end hate for good. x.com/cp24/status/20…
Today at Christie Pits, I announced a five-point plan to end hate in Toronto. With recent attacks on synagogues & other institutions, Jewish Torontonians have been relentlessly targeted: this wave of hate crimes must be stopped. Read our plan here: chrisalexander.ca/ending-hate-cr…

The mayor has failed to end this century’s worst wave of hate crimes targeting a Toronto community. By boycotting a debate organized by that community, she is utterly failing in her duty to protect all Torontonians. In so doing, she puts our city at risk. We need change. x.com/nowtoronto/sta…
On June 9, 2024 St Anne‘s Church was badly damaged in a fire still being investigated as suspected arson. A unique artistic legacy was destroyed — but the church & congregation have mounted a free exhibition of works by 12 Canadian artists, running until September 13. 1/2 pic.x.com/2IikO1lYYg
It was fascinating & inspiring to listen & learn today from CEO @NCHetherington & his team at @DailyBreadTO — a mighty force for food security, stable housing & community building in our city. Looking forward to the mayoral debate on September 14! #Toronto #EndHunger pic.x.com/JbZbzqrJFX
Grateful to be at this @IntlDwtnAssoc 2026 annual conference ‘Inspired Leaders/ Shaping Cities’ at @WestinToronto: @Richard_Florida later called today’s downtown a set of interlocking districts, each with its own appeal, delivering social engagement & connection. #Toronto pic.x.com/JXGJS2EGoN x.com/intldwtnassoc/…
Toronto’s long feud with Queen’s Park has cost us. As mayor, I will build a consensus on a safe, long-term cycling network — without worsening congestion. ‘Toronto needs a “higher standard” like Copenhagen when it comes to bike lanes’ youtu.be/UmuRokVK3Yw?si… via @YouTube
Names matter. This town, founded on August 27th, 1793, was first named York — for a recent British victory under the Duke of York — by Upper Canada’s first lieutenant governor. It reverted to its indigenous name in 1834. Our city has remained Toronto — then, now & always.
