This staff report is about a matter that the Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision. This report recommends the installation of mid-block pedestrian traffic control signals at 225 Milliken Boulevard approximately 230 metres north of McNicoll Avenue. The need for a pedestrian crossing protection in the form of a pedestrian crossover (PXO) has been identified in a Traffic Impact Study submitted by the TTC.

The TTC property at this location was bisected by the Milliken Boulevard extension from McNicoll Avenue to Passmore Avenue. Staff at Transportation Services in consultation with TTC have recommended upgrading the PXO to pedestrian traffic control signals in keeping with the existing adjacent pedestrian traffic control signals located approximately 150 metres north of this location at 255 Milliken Boulevard. TTC staff have agreed to proceed with the installation of mid-block pedestrian traffic control signals. The signals will be located where the main pedestrian walkway from the TTC McNicoll Bus Garage property crosses the road to connect with its 350-space parking lot to the west.
