City Council on January 30 and 31, 2019, adopted the following: 1. City Council authorize the installation of traffic control signals at the intersection of Oakwood Avenue at Rosemount Avenue. 2. City Council authorize the removal of the pedestrian crossover on Oakwood Avenue at Rosemount Avenue in conjunction with the installation of traffic control signals at that intersection.

The purpose of this report is to obtain approval to convert an existing pedestrian crossover (PXO) to traffic control signals on Oakwood Avenue at Rosemount Avenue. The installation of traffic control signals is technically justified and will enhance safety for pedestrians and motorists at the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and Rosemount Avenue. Based on the results of traffic control signals warrant, staff is recommending that the pedestrian crossover be replaced with traffic control signals.

As the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) operates bus service on Oakwood Avenue, City Council approval of this report is required. The TTC has been advised on the matter.
