Etobicoke York Community Council: 1. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on John Street, between Pine Street and Elm Street. 2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter sections of the roadway on John Street, between Pine Street and Elm Street for traffic calming enhancements, as generally shown on Drawing EY19-077 dated September 2019.

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision. This report summarizes the result of the traffic calming poll for owners and occupants of John Street, between Pine Street and Elm Street. Polling ballots were mailed to the affected residents on October 31, 2019 and 55% of the residents on John Street, between Pine Street and Elm Street responded to the polling and of those 59% were in favour of the installation of speed humps.

As a result, the 60% of valid responses supporting the proposal needed to proceed with the installation was not achieved.
Staff recommended
The Acting Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services recommends that: 1. Etobicoke York Community Council NOT authorize the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on John Street, between Pine Street and Elm Street.
