On the agenda
As the city filed it
At its meeting held on January 8, 2020 North York Community Council amended the parking regulations on Briar Hill Avenue, east of Dufferin Street, to allow parking on the north side of the street in front of newly constructed townhouses. http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/viewAgendaItemHistory.do?item=2020.NY12.8. Subsequently, residents of Briar Hill Avenue complained that visibility through the curved section of the street fronting the new townhouses is obstructed by vehicles parked on the curve.

Also, delivery drivers regularly park illegally on the south side of the street to make deliveries to the townhouses since they do not have an on-site loading area. As a result, two-way traffic is obstructed. Transportation Services staff observed operations on the street and concur with the residents' concerns. To address the above situation, it is recommended that stopping be prohibited at all times on both sides of the curved section of Briar Hill Avenue. This will result in the loss of approximately six permit parking spaces that were created by the January 8, 2020 Community Council decision. There are 22 parking permits issued for 59 spaces on Briar Hill Avenue. To accommodate deliveries to the townhouses, an 11-metre long No Parking area, in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., daily, on the north side of the street, just west of the curve, is also recommended. This will result in the loss of two parking spaces during the day.
