The project includes replacement of the superstructure (girders and deck) and rehabilitation of the substructure (bents). Parsons Inc. (Parsons) is the City of Toronto's Owner's Engineer and Technical Advisor (OE/TA) for this section of the Rehabilitation Plan and is preparing a Reference Concept Design (RCD) for the rehabilitation project. Parsons is a global consulting firm which delivers complex roads, bridges, tunnels, highways, and transit solutions including consulting and planning services, program and construction management, and alternative delivery methods. Construction is expected to commence by early 2023 and take approximately three years for completion. Staff form Parson's and the City of Toronto will be attending the Board meeting of October 29th, 2021 to do a Power Point presentation on the Gardiner Rehabilitation Project Section 2 from Dufferin Street to Strachan Avenue adjacent to Exhibition Place for the benefit of the Board Members.
