City Council on June 15 and 16, 2022, adopted the following: 1. City Council authorize the extension of right-of-way occupancy on Wallace Avenue to accommodate the relocated rail signal bungalow and gate arm, shown on Attachment 2 to the report (May 9, 2022) from the Director, Transportation Planning and Capital Program, from June 30, 2022 to June 30, 2023 inclusive to facilitate on-going construction of the Davenport Diamond elevated guideway along the GO Barrie Rail Corridor.

As the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) operates a transit service on Wallace Avenue, City Council approval of this report is required. In June 2020, Graham Commuter Rail Solutions (GCRS), Metrolinx's contractor for the Davenport Diamond Grade Separation Project, temporarily relocated a rail signal bungalow and gate arm from Metrolinx lands to the City's right-of-way on Wallace Avenue east and west of the GO Barrie Rail Corridor tracks, respectively.

With the street occupancy in place, all traffic and pedestrian movements on Wallace Avenue are maintained. On June 8 and 9, 2021, City Council authorized the time extension of right-of-way occupancy on Wallace Avenue from June 29, 2021 to June 29, 2022. A further time extension of the existing street occupancy permit on Wallace Avenue is required from June 30, 2022 to June 30, 2023 to complete the required works.
