Parking and Traffic Amendments - Cumberland Street between Avenue Road and Bellair Street

This would mean No Stopping Anytime on both sides of the street. The limit for the 2-way portion on Cumberland would start from Avenue Rd to approx. the pedestrian crossover. This would give vehicles exiting driveways along this stretch the 2-way option. Westbound left-turns at Avenue would be prohibited for safety. The two-way operation would provide motorists exiting all the driveways along this stretch an alternate route to exit the Yorkville area. There are no other driveways east of the pedestrian crossover to Bellair so this section could remain one-way eastbound. Stopping will need to be prohibited at all times on both side of the two-way section of Cumberland in order to deter all curbside activities so that safe unobstructed two-way traffic flow is maintained. The recommendations below solidify the changes being requested and will allow for the future potential closure of Cumberland beside the Village of Yorkville Park.

3. Toronto and East York Community Council rescind the existing stopping prohibition in effect at all times on the north side of Cumberland Street between Avenue Road and a point 75 metres east. 4. Toronto and East York Community Council prohibit stopping at all times on the north side of Cumberland Street between Avenue Road and a point 159 metres east. 5. Toronto and East York Community Council amend the existing one-way eastbound traffic designation on Cumberland Street between Avenue Road and Bay Street, to operate between a point 138.5 metres east of Avenue Road and Bay Street. 6. Toronto and East York Community Council prohibit westbound left turns at all times on Cumberland Street at Avenue Road.
