On the agenda

As the city filed it

Residents and the local school Principal have contacted me concerned about the safety on Strathburn Boulevard outside of St. Simon Catholic School. Strathburn Boulevard is lined with cars each morning and afternoon as many parents drop off and pick up their children and this has created a hectic and dangerous situation. Recently I moved a motion to install an All-Way Stop control at Melody and Strathburn to work to make the situation safer for families going to and from the school.

With the addition of the stop sign, the parking regulations in front of the school must be re-visited. Therefore I am recommending the committee rescind the existing patchwork of parking regulations and prohibit stopping directly in front of St. Simon Catholic School.
