City Council on December 13, 14 and 15, 2023, adopted the following: 1. City Council request the General Manager, Transportation Services and the Executive Director, Transit Expansion to investigate opportunities to reduce the setbacks between Eglinton Avenue West and the Eglinton Crosstown West elevated guideway, resulting in shifting the guideway to the south, and reducing the impact to Fergy Brown Park and Pearen Park

The proposed alignment of the elevated guideway for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will be constructed along the north side of Eglinton Avenue West, extending between the tunnel portals east of Jane Street near Pearen Park and extending to portals to the west of Scarlett Road. The elevated guideway on the east side of Jane Street will be set back 10.6 metres from the face of the curb along Eglinton Ave. West, and will be located along the southern edge of the parklands of Fergy Brown Park and Pearen Park.

Additionally, the elevated guideway on the west side of Jane Street will be set back 7.6 metres from the face of the curb along Eglinton Avenue West within the existing road allowance. This motion requests City staff, investigate opportunities to reduce setbacks between Eglinton Avenue West and the elevated guideway, along the proposed alignment, in order to bring the elevated guideway closer to the roadway and reduce impacts on the parklands.
