Speaker Nunziata, during the morning session of the meeting, called upon Mayor Chow to address City Council to recognize the contributions of staff from City of Toronto divisions and agencies during the Toronto Blue Jays post-season. Mayor Chow addressed City Council and made remarks to celebrate the Blue Jays' inspiring post-season run and the team's first World Series appearance in 32 years. Mayor Chow recognized the enormous amount of planning and coordination done by City staff and partners and thanked them for their work and dedication over the course of the games. Councillor Cheng, during the morning session of the meeting, welcomed students from Cawthra Park Secondary School who were present in the Council Chamber. Councillor Shan, during the afternoon session of the meeting, advised Members of Council that November is Hindu Heritage Month, gave remarks recognizing the vibrant Hindu community in the City and across Canada, and invited Members of Council to a community reception on Sunday November 30, 2025. November 13, 2025 Speaker Nunziata, during the morning session of the meeting, called upon Mayor Chow to address City Council to honour the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) for being named the best children's healthcare centre in the world. Mayor Chow addressed City Council and gave remarks to recognize and honour SickKids for topping the list of 250 children's hospitals globally by Newsweek and Statista. Mayor Chow praised the achievement and offered congratulations to the entire SickKids community, noting that SickKids is also celebrating its 150th anniversary, and this recognition highlights its ongoing mission: Healthier children, a better world. Mayor Chow introduced Karen Kinnear, Vice-President, Clinical Operations and Patient and Family Experience, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), and invited her to the podium to receive a congratulatory scroll on behalf of the hospital. Karen Kinnear addressed City Council. Deputy Mayor Malik, during the morning session of the meeting, advised Members of Council that it's not too late to be a part of the City's United Way employee campaign and support the City's charity of choice, the United Way of Greater Toronto, and outlined some of the upcoming initiatives, opportunities, and events. Mayor Chow, during the afternoon session of the meeting, advised Members of Council about the upcoming retirement of Lisa Duncan, Director, Collections and Litter Operations, and gave remarks about Lisa's career.
