The Scarborough Community Council: 1. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Brimwood Boulevard, between Brimley Road and Sandhurst Circle. 2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway to install eleven speed humps on Brimwood Boulevard, between Brimley Road and Sandhurst Circle, generally as shown Drawings Nos. TC-492, TC-493 and TC-494, dated April 2025 from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services and attached to the letter (April 16, 2025) from Councillor Jamaal Myers.

3. Subject to approval of Parts 1 and 2 above, reduced the speed limit from 40 km/h to 30 km/h on Brimwood Boulevard, between Brimley Road and Sandhurst Circle, in conjunction with the installation of speed humps. 4. Subject to approval of Part 3 above, authorized the amendment of Schedule XLV (Part 1) to City of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 950, Traffic and Parking, to remove Brimwood Boulevard between Sandhurst Circle and Brimley Road, from being excluded from the Designated Area such that this portion of highway will then be included within the corresponding designated area in Column 1 in Schedule XLV (Part 1).

This letter is a follow-up to Item SC21.18, "Brimwood Boulevard Traffic Calming" as staff have completed the necessary drawings for the installation of speed humps on Brimwood Boulevard between Brimley Road and Sandhurst Circle. Both items are in response to the tragic death of Christina Huang, a Grade 9 student at Albert Campbell Collegiate Institute, who was struck by a car on Brimwood Boulevard on March 26, 2025. The

recommendations to install speed humps is another step towards the introduction of additional traffic calming measures in an area that has three schools and has a need for increased traffic safety.
