On the agenda

As the city filed it

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision. Transportation Services is recommending the removal of the existing school bus loading zone designated for Alexmuir Junior Public School, located on the east side of Alexmuir Boulevard, as it is no longer required. Additionally, the implementation of a stopping prohibition is recommended at the entrance to the school bus loop to keep the area clear of parked vehicles.

The proposed changes will create additional parking spaces for parents and guardians to pick-up and drop-off students and will improve entry for school buses. These recommendations are in consultation with Green Communities Canada and their working group with the school administration, staff and parents from Alexmuir Junior Public School. During the investigation, Transportation Services discovered a discrepancy between the by-lawed regulations and the posted signage on the east side of Alexmuir Boulevard. Recommendation 2 in this report will rectify this inconsistency.
