Council to receive staff report on reusing the Standard Theatre as a live music venue
City staff have assessed whether the vacant Standard Theatre at 285 Spadina Avenue can be adapted into a live music venue, following a council member motion in an earlier term. Staff found the use would be permitted under zoning and could support cultural preservation, but say the owner must drive any restoration work. Council is being asked to receive this report.
