Various presentations, introductions and announcements were made to City Council on February 4, 2026. Councillor Morley, during the afternoon session of the meeting, wished Members of Council a happy Black History Month and, as Chair of the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Advisory Committee, gave remarks underscoring the important role the City of Toronto is playing as a leader in the space of confronting anti-Black racism.

Councillor Cheng, during the afternoon session of the meeting, advised Members of Council that on the weekend she had walked with over 100,000 Iranians in solidarity with a community gripped with fear and uncertainty over the situation in Iran. Councillor Cheng acknowledged the painful situation and extended her support to the Toronto Iranian Staff Network.
