Various presentations, introductions and announcements were made to City Council on March 25 and 26, 2026. March 25, 2026 Councillor Burnside, during the morning session of the meeting, gave remarks about the late Shamsh Kara. Councillor Perruzza, during the morning session of the meeting, gave remarks about the late Giorgio Mammoliti. Speaker Nunziata, during the morning session of the meeting, called upon Mayor Chow to address City Council to recognize the Toronto Olympic Medalists from the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

Mayor Chow addressed City Council and gave remarks to celebrate Olympic Medalists from the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympics with ties to Toronto. Mayor Chow recognized Piper Gilles, from Team Canada's figure skating team, Tom Wilson, from the men's hockey team, and Sophie Jaques, Daryl Watts, Claire Thompson, and Natalie Spooner from the women's hockey team, who were present in the Council Chamber. Mayor Chow introduced Gina Kingsbury, General Manager of Team Canada and the Toronto Sceptres, and invited her to the podium to receive a congratulatory scroll on behalf of Team Canda. Councillor Kandavel, during the morning session of the meeting, advised Members of Council about the February 13, 2026, North American debut of the Orchestral Qawwali Project, presented by Small World Music at Meridian Hall. Councillor Burnside, during the morning session of the meeting, advised Members of Council about the arrival in Ontario of His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V on his first official visit to Canada. Deputy Mayor Malik, during the morning session of the meeting, advised Members of Council about the results of this year's United Way employee campaign at the City of Toronto. Councillor Cheng, during the morning session of the meeting, wished the Iranian community across Toronto and around the world a Happy Nowruz, and advised Members of Council that the holiday was celebrated on March 20 as a launch to Spring. Councillor Ainslie, during the morning session of the meeting, invited Members of Council to visit the Members' Lounge over the lunch period for the artificial intelligence project showcase featuring the Mayor's AI awards recipients. Mayor Chow addressed City Council and gave remarks to recognize and congratulate the recipients of the Mayor's Artificial Intelligence Awards: Data Enabled Recreation Planning, 311 Virtual Assistant, TechAssist - IT Virtual Assistant, and Building Permit Application Precheck. Mayor Chow introduced a video presentation about the winning projects and invited Councillor Ainslie to speak Councillor Ainslie addressed City Council and gave remarks about the Mayor's AI awards and the winning projects. Deputy Mayor Malik, during the afternoon session of the meeting, welcomed students from Northeastern University, Toronto and Tamara Estwick, Global Learner Support Specialist at Northeastern University Toronto, who were present in the Council Chamber. Councillor Bravo, during the afternoon session of the meeting, advised Members of Council that March 24 was the 50th anniversary of the military coup in Argentina. Councillor Bravo spoke about the 400 infants stolen from their mothers in captivity and welcomed Marcela Solsona Sintora, who had been among the stolen infants, and was present in the Council Chamber.
