Appointment of Members to the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Advisory Committee
The report recommends the appointment of 3 new community members to the Confronting Anti Black Racism Council Advisory Committee to provide a full compliment of 14 Committee members, following 3 member resignations.
The Civic Appointments Committee recommends that: 1. City Council appoint the 3 new individuals listed in the Confidential Attachment 1 to the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Advisory Committee, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending with the November 14, 2026, to coincide with the end of the 2022- 2026 City Council Term, or until the completion of its mandate, whichever comes first: - Kendall Forde; - Nicholas Marcus Thompson; and - Mahkeba Diana Walters. 2. City Council direct that the balance of Confidential Attachments 1 to 4 to the report (October 8, 2025) from the Executive Director, Social Development remain confidential as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals who are being considered for appointment to the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Advisory Committee.

The Executive Director, Social Development recommends that: 1. City Council appoint the 3 new individuals listed in the Confidential Attachment 1 to the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Advisory Committee, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on November 14, 2026, to coincide with the end of the 2022-2026 City Council Term, or until the completion of its mandate, whichever comes first. 2. City Council direct that the balance of Confidential Attachments 1 to 4 remain confidential as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals who are being considered for appointment to the Confronting Anti-Black Racism Advisory Committee.

Selection of Candidates for Interview for the Sankofa Square Board
The Civic Appointments Committee must select candidates to interview for appointment to the Sankofa Square Board. Following the interviews, the Civic Appointments Committee will recommend one candidate for appointment to City Council.
The Civic Appointments Committee: 1. Selected the following candidates for interview for appointment to the Sankofa Square Board: - YDS2-117; - YDS2-125; - YDS2-143; - YDS2-145 and; - YDS2-160. 2. Directed that Confidential Attachments 1a, 1b, and 2 to the report (October 7, 2025) from the City Clerk remain confidential in their entirety as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Sankofa Square Board.

The City Clerk recommends that: 1. The Civic Appointments Committee select 4 of the candidates listed in Confidential Attachment 1 for interview at its next meeting for appointment to the Sankofa Square Board. 2. The Civic Appointments Committee direct that Confidential Attachments 1a, 1b, and 2 remain confidential in their entirety as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Sankofa Square Board.

Appointment of a Public Member to the Toronto Global Board
The Civic Appointments Committee must select candidates to interview for appointment to the Toronto Global Board. Following the interviews, the Civic Appointments Committee will recommend one candidate for appointment to City Council.
The Civic Appointments Committee recommends that: 1. City Council waive Section 8.3, Short-listing Process and Section 8.6, Interviewing Candidates, of the City of Toronto Public Appointments Policy and appoint the following candidate, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on November 15, 2028, and until a successor is appointed: Satish Kanwar 2. City Council direct that Confidential Attachments 1a and 1b to the report (October 7, 2025) from the City Clerk remain confidential in their entirety as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Toronto Global Board.
