2019-2022 Poverty Reduction Strategy Mid-Term Update - Accessibility Feedback
Wayne Chu, Manager, Poverty Reduction Strategy Office, will give a presentation on preliminary mid-term status update for the 2019-2022 Poverty Reduction Strategy Action Plan, and update on the Fair Pass Transit Discount Program. Feedback on this presentation will be incorporated into the next Poverty Reduction Strategy staff report.
The Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee recommends that: 1. City Council request the Toronto Transit Commission Board to request the Chief Executive Officer, TTC, to explore the feasibility of improving access to the Fair Pass Program, in consultation with the City's Poverty Reduction Strategy Office, and to expedite any ongoing work, including but not limited to: a. Explore the feasibility of in-person registration in accordance with public health guidelines; b. Expedite extending the Fair Pass program to residents who already receive other means-tested supports such as rent geared to income housing, and c. Explore the feasibility of mailing programmed, validated PRESTO cards to facilitate and ensure access; and to report back to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee on the results of the review by the fourth quarter of 2021. 2. The Manager, Poverty Reduction Strategy Office report to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee by the end of 2021 on: - the specific data the City has indicating how many people with disabilities are living in poverty in the City of Toronto. - the data that is needed to have an understanding of how poverty impacts people with disabilities and the impact of the Poverty Reduction strategy initiatives on reducing poverty in this population. - next steps the Poverty Reduction Strategy office will take to integrate the collection of disability data into their data collection methods to address identified gaps in current data collection.

Howie Dayton, Director, Community Recreation, and Angela Lopes, Supervisor, Community Recreation, Parks, Forestry and Recreation will give a presentation on Parks, Forestry and Recreation Response to Safe Outdoor Programming and Updated Communication Methods. The presentation will include information on the spring and summer outdoor program pilot, and subsequent updates to the web pages. An overview of accessibility features of Toronto.ca pages and future enhancements will also be provided.

Customer Experience Transformation - Accessibility in Customer Service
Robbie Grewal, Director, Strategic Policy and Planning, Corporate Services will give a presentation on Customer Experience Transformation - Accessibility in Customer Service. As part of the City's Customer Experience Transformation, a cross-disciplinary team of staff with expertise in strategic planning, process engineering, customer experience engagement and operations, and technology enablement has been formed. This presentation will highlight the initiatives that this team have been proposing and initiating to improve customer service delivery at the City, including approaches that will improve service delivery specifically for people with disabilities.

ActiveTO Midtown Temporary Complete Street Pilot - Accessibility Feedback
Becky Katz, Manager, Cycling and Pedestrian Projects will give a presentation on the ActiveTO Midtown Temporary Complete Street Pilot to receive feedback on accessibility features.
The Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee: 1. Communicates to the Infrastructure and Environment Committee and City Council, its support for the ActiveTO Midtown Temporary Complete Street Pilot and its harmonized installation in consultation with TTC WheelTrans, as well as its ongoing refinement through consultation with persons living with disabilities. 2. Recommends that City Council direct the General Manager, Transportation Services to report to the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee following the consultation and the full installation of the ActiveTO Midtown Temporary Complete Street Pilot.

Vacancy on Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee
The City Clerk's Office has received notice that Stefanie Marinich-Lee has resigned from the Toronto Accessibility Advisory Committee effective February 23, 2021. Staff from the Public Appointments Secretariat in the City Clerk's Office and Equity, Diversity, and Human Rights in the People and Equity Office are working on a process to recruit applicants and help bring a nominated candidate to City Council for their consideration.
