Industry representatives from the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Science (CARAS) will deliver a presentation on the organization's mandate and work, including opportunities for Toronto's music community to engage in the JUNO award ceremonies leading up to and during the 50th Anniversary of the Award Celebrations in Toronto in 2021.

City-owned Spaces for Do-it-Yourself Events
The Music Sector Development Officer will present information on the approaches used in Paris, France, to utilize city-owned space for do-it-yourself (DIY) music and art activity, and also on Toronto's "Community Space Tenancy Policy." Toronto Music Advisory Committee members will discuss ideas to assist in shaping the upcoming staff report on principles, operating models, and opportunities for DIY venues in city-owned spaces, to be submitted to the Economic and Community Development Committee in March 2020.
The Toronto Music Advisory Committee recommends that: 1. The Economic and Community Development Committee request the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture to consult with stakeholders in the music and arts and culture sector, as part of the work on potential Do-It-Yourself (DIY) venues on city-owned space.

Strategies for Assisting Live Music Venues
Staff in Corporate Finance will provide information on financial mechanisms that might be applied to offer tax rebates or relief to help ensure the long-term sustainability of live music venues in Toronto. Staff in Economic Development and Culture will present strategies to maintain and create new accessible, sustainable spaces for Toronto's creative sector.
The Toronto Music Advisory Committee recommends that: 1. The Economic and Community Development Committee request the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture to: a. Establish an interdivisional working group, including Economic Development and Culture, Corporate Finance, City Planning and other necessary city staff; and b. Report to the Toronto Music Advisory Committee on February 20, 2020 and to the Economic and Community Development Committee with a review and steps to develop a rebate program for live music venues, and other financial options to support live music in the City of Toronto.

Toronto Music Advisory Committee Priorities 2019-2022
Toronto Music Advisory Committee members will discuss and finalize a list of priorities for the 2018 - 2022 term of City Council.
The Toronto Music Advisory Committee requested that: 1. The Music Sector Development Officer be requested to take Toronto Music Advisory Committee Members' feedback into consideration when further developing the list of Committee priorities for the 2018-2022 term of City Council.

2020 Toronto Music Advisory Committee Meeting Schedule
The Terms of Reference for the Toronto Music Advisory Committee (TMAC) state that at the call of the Chair, TMAC will hold up to four meetings per year.
