Permit Parking Amendments on Mountjoy Avenue
L'Ecole Viamonde will soon be opening a new school at the intersection of Mountjoy Avenue and Ladysmith Avenue. I have heard from residents of Mountjoy who are concerned about the impacts of traffic to and from the school on permit parking in their neighbourhood and they have requested an extension of the permit parking hours on Mountjoy Avenue. This letter includes recommendations to extend permit parking hours to ensure access to parking for local residents.
The Toronto and East York Community Council: 1. Authorized the extension of the overnight on-street permit parking hours on Mountjoy Avenue, between Greenwood Avenue and 37 Mountjoy Avenue from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., 7 days a week to the new hours of 12:01 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., 7 days a week.

It is recommended that: 1. On February 23, 2023, TEYCC received a presentation on the Night Economy, which is a shared Divisional initiative among Economic Development and Culture, Municipal Licensing and Standards, and City Planning. The presentation resulted in two motions being moved at Committee that request a report back at the April 12 Toronto East York Community Council meeting: 1. Request the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture to request Vivelab to present their consultation plan on the Night Economy for the Toronto and East York district at the April 12, 2023 meeting of the Toronto and East York Community Council. 2. Request the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture to engage in thorough and robust consultation with resident, neighbourhood and community association in the Toronto and East York Community Council boundaries, on the Night Economy Plan and provide a update on progress at the April 12, 2023 meeting of the Toronto and East York Community Council. Accordingly, I am hoping for your support for this recommendation, which will allow for Economic Development staff to provide an update to TEYCC. Staff have confirmed they are ready to present to the April 12th meeting.

Councillor Fletcher recommends that: 1. The Toronto and East York Community Council consider the attached report and hear a presentation led by the Economic Development and Culture at the April 12, 2023, including any relevant staff from VibeLab and partner Divisions, on the Night Economy consultation plan, including the consultation with resident, neighbourhood and community associations, and provide an update on progress as it pertains to the duties of Community Council.

Request to name Stan Wadlow Park Baseball Diamond #1 to "Harry MacAloney Field"
On September 9, 2019 an application was submitted to the Strategic Partnerships division (formerly referred to as the Toronto Office of Partnerships) requesting to name baseball diamond #1 at Stan Wadlow Park to Harry MacAloney Field. Baseball diamond #1 is the largest baseball diamond at the park, situated in the north-east corner of the park. The results of the public consultation survey determined that the majority of respondents were in favour of the naming.
The Toronto East York Community Council: 1. Adopted the naming of the baseball diamond field #1, located at 373 Cedarvale Avenue to Harry MacAloney Field.

Appointments to the Applegrove Community Complex Board of Management
On behalf of the Applegrove Community Complex I am submitting the names of the new board of directors which have been submitted to the City but did not make the agenda closing for this meeting. A letter from the Executive Director is attached, and approving them at this meeting will allow the new board to commence work. I wish to thank the outgoing board members for their service and thank the new members for putting their names forward. I look forward to working with them.
