Scarborough Community Council: 1. Waived the petition and polling requirements of the Traffic Calming Policy and authorized the installation of traffic calming/one speed hump on Brookmill Boulevard, between Bridletowne Circle and La Peer Boulevard. 2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadways of Brookmill Boulevard between Bridletowne Circle and La Peer Boulevard, for traffic calming purposes, generally as shown on the Location Plan in Attachment 2, entitled, "Location Plan: Traffic Calming Review - Brookmill Boulevard", attached to the report (April 30, 2019) from the Acting Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.

3. Directed Transportation Services to take the necessary actions to reduce the speed limit from 40 km/h to 30 km/h on Brookmill Boulevard between Bridletowne Circle and La Peer Boulevard. 4. Prohibited eastbound and westbound U-turn movements at all times on Brookmill Boulevard between Bridletowne Circle and La Peer Boulevard.

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority to make a final decision. Transportation staff have reviewed the need for traffic calming on Brookmill Boulevard, between Bridletowne Circle and La Peer Boulevard. The request is as a result of the Councillor and residents' concerns regarding the speed of vehicles on Brookmill Boulevard. Our assessment indicates the criteria as set out in the Traffic Calming Policy has not been satisfied.
