As the city filed it

In response to concerns brought forward by members of the community, I am bringing forward a motion to Scarborough Community Council to authorize the installation of an all-way stop control at Beechgrove Drive and Fergalea Avenue. Multiple families residing on Beechgrove Drive between Lawrence Avenue East and Kingston Road are vocal that we need immediate attention towards traffic calming measures along this 900 meters of roadway.

As an interim response, my office has worked with residents to request multiple watch-your-speed signs and vision zero slow-down signs this season. While providing temporary traffic calming, this has not adequately addressed traffic concerns in this area. The installation of an all-way stop control aligns with the fundamental message of the Vision Zero Road Safety plan. Fatalities and serious injuries on our roads are preventable, and we must strive to reduce traffic-related deaths and injuries to zero. My office has consulted with staff from Transportation Services regarding the selection of the recommended location and staff do not hold objection to the recommendation.
