Recommendations include a study of the Keele-Lawrence intersection, two new pedestrian crossings including a midblock safety improvement, new and refreshed pavement markings, parking and stopping restrictions, and school crossing guard studies. Other options for change have been identified by the study; these options include traffic calming measures, new sidewalks and further turn and entry restrictions on local roads. No recommendation regarding these options is made at this time. This report documents the findings of the Maple Leaf and Rustic Streets Plan study to support future case-by-case consideration in consultation with the local Councillor. A companion report entitled 'Maple Leaf Drive and Falstaff Avenue - Traffic Safety Improvements' seeks approval for proposed changes for which City Council approval is required, including designation of Community Safety Zones and changes on Maple Leaf Drive where the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) operates a transit route. A summary of all proposed changes can be found in Table 5.
