On the agenda

As the city filed it

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision. Transportation Services is recommending that the existing parking prohibition on the east side of Nantucket Boulevard, south of Wickware Gate, be amended to allow parking between the months of November and April. The proposed amendment will provide on-street parking for the use of employees working at the City of Toronto's winter maintenance depot, located at 1 Nantucket Boulevard.

When plowing and salting is activated during winter events, operators drive to the depot from across the region. Parking has been maximized within the depot but there is not enough space on-site for all employee's private vehicles. The proposed changes will not impact the operation of Nantucket Boulevard, which is wide enough to maintain two-way traffic and double-sided parking, and will add approximately 30 on-street spaces.
